| Text: | km 49 399 we spend quite some time with louleid and his friends. there were a lot of discussions about the taleban, usama bin laden and dr. bush. quite a few people expressed open sympathie for usama and everybody condemmed the us action in afghanistan. in the afternoon, thomas and i went to have a look at the us embassy and found it completely fenced off, as described by louleids friends who see this as an affront in their quiet country. at night we went partying and went from one club to another. mauritania a dry country? not really! there are lots of nouakchott youths, drinking in these clubs. there are also other people, dressed in their blue traditional dresses, dancing with the drunk, but drinking only water thimselfs, quite funny to observe... |
