a 16 year old boy drowned today, just in front of the campsite. he was only standing to his knees in the water, when an undercurrent grabbed him and pulled him away.
somebody jumped after him and others threw out a long line, but the boy didn't reappear.
his mother went almost mad and the father was shouting at the sea, while the other people around hardly reacted to the incident. at least five people drown here every week, the said, it's nothing uncommon...
we stayed well away from the water and enjoyed the sunset from the saftey of the bar.
